Meet our President of the Board

Susan Turner

Susan is a Seneca native and has long ties to the disabilities’ community. In 1964 her family along with 4 other families began to advocate for their family members with developmental and intellectual differences.  Through hard work and a team spirit, a school was begun for 5 students.  With support of the Seneca Sertoma Club who donated a bus for transportation and Mrs. Bert Tribble who donated twelve acres of land and $25,000, the Oconee ARC began to grow.   In 1974 the ARC officially opened its new school, named the Tribble Memorial Center.  Today the ARC has evolved into the Arc of Oconee….. And now, Susan in 2019, as the Arc’s president, continues the same passion, hard work, and team spirit her parents instilled in her to advocate for those in our county who are our special needs citizens.

Thank you, Susan for your dedication through the years!
